Worth Avenue · The Breakers · The island
The barrier island that gave the county its name. Worth Avenue, The Breakers, the Lake Trail, and a residential market that runs from South End condos to the estates that define American resort living.
Palm Beach is the town on the barrier island east of West Palm Beach, separated from the mainland by the Intracoastal (the Lake Worth Lagoon) and connected by three bridges. Henry Flagler built The Breakers and the railroad that made it America's winter resort, and it has remained that ever since — seasonal, private and meticulously maintained.
The island has distinct residential zones. The Estate Section south of Worth Avenue is the grand houses. Midtown, around Worth Avenue and the hotels, has townhouses and condos within walking distance of everything. The North End is a quieter, more residential neighborhood of single-family homes. The South End is a stretch of oceanfront and lakefront condo buildings that offers the most accessible way to own on the island.
Worth Avenue, the Lake Trail, the beaches, The Breakers and The Colony, the Flagler Museum — a level of place that exists nowhere else in the county.
The Town of Palm Beach is known for its police presence, code enforcement and the general polish of everything public.
Downtown West Palm Beach, the airport and the Brightline are minutes across the bridge.
South of Worth Avenue between the ocean and the lake. The historic estates — Mizner, Fatio, Volk — and the new ones built to match. The top of the market.
The blocks around Worth Avenue, The Breakers and the town center. Townhouses, condos and smaller homes that let you walk to lunch.
North of the Palm Beach Country Club: quieter streets, single-family homes on smaller lots, the Lake Trail and the inlet at the tip. Where island residents raise families.
Oceanfront and lakefront condo buildings along South Ocean Boulevard. The most attainable entry to a Palm Beach address, with the beach across the street.
The Town of Palm Beach has some of the most exacting architectural and landmark rules anywhere. Renovation and construction plans go through a demanding review — we make sure you know that before you buy with a project in mind.
South End condos vary widely in age, reserves and assessment history, and many are seasonal. We read the building's financials and inspection reports carefully.
The island is a seasonal market. Inventory and buyer activity peak in winter, and some sellers only list then. We watch the calendar with you.
No. Palm Beach is the town on the barrier island; West Palm Beach is the mainland city across the Intracoastal. They share a name and a bridge, and very little else — including price.
Generally a condo in the South End or a smaller unit in Midtown. Even there, pricing is above nearly every mainland community. If a Palm Beach address is not essential, West Palm's SoSo and El Cid neighborhoods offer the Intracoastal lifestyle at a different level.
Increasingly, yes, though it remains seasonal at heart. Many residents are here from November through April, and the town's rhythm — restaurants, events, traffic — follows that calendar.
